Progress. Tomorrow.

Image
Progress. Tomorrow. Progress. Tomorrow | Samsung SM-G970U | 4.3mm | ISO64 | f2.4 | 1/120sec | 3/4/2023 People. Many of them. One on top of the other. Living. Sleeping. People. On top of people. On top of these stores.  These shops. These worlds beneath them. With People above them. These worlds above them. Living. In an old world. An apartment building with a lamppost.  Old. Old as Narnia. Yet, comes the sun. Sunset. A new dawn tomorrow. A new beginning tomorrow. Change.  New lampposts. New shops. Change. New, tomorrow. But still, People. Living. Worlds on top of  each other. And progress. And new dawns. And change. But, tomorrow. This image was interesting to me mostly for its composition and content. The sunset glaring off of the building created an interesting composition that could've been interpreted in a great number of ways. I, in this poem, have described the building as old because of the old looking streetlamp. However, there are many other ways to interpre...

Ghost, yet Bike.

Image
Ghost, yet Bike. Ghost; Blending into the background, Yet forefront of the mind. Ghost; Neither perished into the unknown; Nor still traveling through the always-known; Somewhere in between. Yet, Bike; A tool of mobility; A path of freedom; Traveling along roads well known; And Roads seldom traveled. Though, in between A bike and the freedom of the road; Ghost; A car; Ghost, yet Bike. Ghost Bike. Ghost, yet Bike. | Samsung SM-G970U | 4.3mm | ISO64 | f2.4 | 1/120sec | 2/28/2023 Explanation: This is an image of a ghost bike on Old Georgetown Road. In case of unfamiliarity, a ghost bike is a memorial to a cyclist who is killed, usually by a car. And, this ghost bike is really powerful because it shows conflicting messages; yes, it is horrible that this person was killed, that they were struck by a car and are now stuck in this position between life and death, as a ghost bike. But,it is also incredible that they were able to die on the bike, die as someone who was using this tool of mobili...

Insignificant or Compassionate

Image
Insignificant or Compassionate Airplanes. Big.  Heavy - flying tin cans. State of the Art.  A man. A lone man. Pales in comparison. Yet a man with Heart. State of the Art.  A man with Heart.  Neither can be without the other. Both will leave together; Depart. Insignificant or Compassionate | Canon EOS Rebel T7 | 80mm | ISO100 | f9.1 | 1/100sec | 2/18/2023 Explanation:  I took this photo at BWI on 2/18/2023; my family had taken me so that I could take pictures. This is a picture that I have always wanted to take; a person with the airport in the background. It, to me, seems like one of the more common aviation photography photos. And, when I look at the image, I instantly think of loneliness, because it is almost a silhouette of a person, alone, and they are in front of so much hustle and bustle of huge machinery. Therefore, this photo takes the route of a photo that illustrates the importance of both. The man has a heart, can think, and can be compassionat...
